This page provides Azul's general process for copyright takedown requests and counter-notices.

General process

This is a general copyright-reporting process for material controlled by Azul. It is not a publication of a formally designated U.S. DMCA agent. Azul may review qualifying copyright concerns and take reasonable action under this policy.

Scope

This policy covers content directly controlled by Azul, including the Azul website, documentation, Discord-controlled content, downloadable files, and other Azul-managed materials or locations.

Takedown request requirements

A request must include:

  • A clear identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • A clear identification of the allegedly infringing material.
  • The exact URL, message link, file location, or other information needed to find the material.
  • The requester's name and reliable contact information.
  • An explanation of why the identified use is unauthorized.
  • A good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorized by the rights owner, its representative, or applicable law.
  • A statement that the submitted information is accurate and that the requester owns or is authorized to represent the relevant rights.
  • The requester's typed or electronic signature.

Submission

Submit takedown requests only through the official Azul Discord until Azul publishes another copyright contact method.

Review

Requests are reviewed on a best-effort basis. Azul does not guarantee a response, decision, removal, restriction, or resolution within any particular time.

Azul may reject or ignore requests that are incomplete, fraudulent, abusive, misleading, duplicative, unverifiable, outside the scope of this policy, or unsupported by sufficient information.

Possible action

When Azul determines that action is appropriate, Azul may remove, disable, restrict, preserve, or investigate the reported material. Azul may also notify the affected user or content provider.

Taking action does not mean that Azul admits liability, confirms ownership, or makes a final legal determination about the dispute.

Sharing requests

Azul may share a takedown request, counter-notice, supporting materials, and the submitter's contact information with the affected party when reasonably needed to investigate, process, or resolve a claim.

Counter-notices

A person affected by a removal or restriction may submit a counter-notice if they believe the action resulted from a mistake or misidentification.

A counter-notice must include:

  • Identification of the material that was removed or restricted.
  • The location where the material appeared before action was taken.
  • An explanation of why the removal or restriction was a mistake or misidentification.
  • The submitter's name and reliable contact information.
  • A statement that the information is accurate and submitted in good faith.
  • The submitter's typed or electronic signature.

Restoration

After receiving a valid counter-notice, Azul may restore or unblock the material at its discretion unless the original requester provides evidence that formal legal action concerning the material has been filed.

Restoration is not guaranteed and does not represent a legal determination about ownership or infringement.

Repeat infringement and abuse

Azul may suspend, restrict, blacklist, or terminate users who repeatedly infringe copyright or repeatedly submit fraudulent, abusive, or knowingly false copyright claims.

Third-party platforms

Azul cannot remove material it does not control. For material hosted by an authorized reseller, Work.ink, Discord, a payment provider, a hosting company, or another third party, submit the request directly to the platform or service that controls the material.

Azul may cooperate when appropriate but cannot guarantee action by an independent third party.

Ownership disputes

Azul does not decide complex copyright ownership, licensing, fair-use, or contractual disputes. Azul may require the parties to resolve a dispute directly or through appropriate legal proceedings.

False claims

Knowingly submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent information may create legal liability. It may also result in rejection of the request, restriction of future submissions, and suspension or termination of access to Azul services.
